Your favorite LIPSTICK may contain LEAD!

The FDA released a report last week that tested over 400 lipsticks to be positive for lead. The FDA said that consumers shouldn't be concerned since so little is ingested, but do try to keep this tubes away from children and according to studies...  did you know the average women eats 4-7 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime? If you do the math, a tube of lipstick is about 3 grams which makes 151 tubes for every pound! [Source pending]

ELF Desert Haze & Fuchsia Nailpolish swatches

on 2.20.2012

ELF nail polishes are great if you're on a budget. They are only $2! But I've noticed that each nail polish is a hit or miss. Some are so sheer and thin that you need up to 3 or 4 coats to really see the color. But its true that you get what you pay for and for that price what can you expect?

close up with flash.

ELF nail polish in Fuchsia

They tend to chip pretty easily, usually after the second or third day of wear and that's with me doing alot to office work, cooking, doing the dishes, etc.

It only took 2 coats to see the color.

From their website:

My 1st Inglot Palette

on 10.24.2011

I finally fell for it and bought my 1st Inglot Palette. I just couldn't help myself watching all these blog posts about Inglot being so amazing and possibly being better than Mac Cosmetics.

As yes they're amazing as everyone is saying! It might possibly be my favorite palette I own, and that's saying a lot.

The flash really washes the colors out.

Every eyeshadow is pigmented, smooth, and they come in different finishes. I really recommend getting a few eyeshadows from Inglot since they're affordable. I believe I spent about $60 for the entire palette, if you do the math, it is a WAY better deal compared to MAC's $14 an eyeshadow. I really wish someone told me about them sooner.

Here its how it was packaged:

It had bubble wrap all over. Very well packaged of course. Every eyeshadow was individually packaged. The palette is a bit heavy but that's because it contains magnets to hold the eyeshadow. I know a few people are complaining of the weight, specially make-up artists, but it just feels more sturdy that way.

I took off the stickers from the eyeshadows and pasted them in the back. (Just in case I want to re-order)

I'll be posting swatches soon along with their names.

BH Cosmetics 120 Colors Palette

on 5.24.2011

I received my very 1st bh Cosmetics palette, the 120 Colors Palette. The black case is about 9" x 6", it contains any color you can think of!! If not, you can always mix a few eyeshadows to create the one you want. The eyeshadows are about the size of a dime. Also lets remember that the "1st Edition" is the exact  same thing as this palette. So go ahead and save some bucks, I didnt' really see any color difference.

Bright eyeshadows:

"Warmer tone" eyeshadows:

Let's take a closer look at the eyeshadows:

Some eyeshadows are very pigmented and others aren't. Some are chalky and powdery, especially the lighter colors, but you do get every finish you can think of, matte, satin, metallics, shimmers. I also didn't notice a smell in them but I always get asked this question about any product that I review, I don't usually "sniff" products since it doesn't really bother me, but I do it for the sake of my readers.

And this is how it was packaged:

It had bubble wrap

and when I took it out from its small package, it had more bubble wrap

oh finally!

and it also had a plastic protector around the package. Everything was packaged well and not one eyeshadow was broken.

I"m actually very impressed with this palette and I'll be doing some swatches later and of course some make-up looks!
